Call for Papers

Stefano Guzzini (European University Institute, former co-editor of International Theory) and Xymena Kurowska (Central European University, co-editor of Journal of International Relations and Development) will lead a workshop for advanced PhD and young faculty who wish to improve their research designs for theses or books, or their article drafts in view of submitting them to peer-reviewed journals in International Relations. The workshop is organized by the Center for International Studies and Development at the Jagellonian University, Kraków and the EUI Widening Europe Programme of the European University Institute. It will take place on 6 November 2024 at the Faculty of International and Political Studies, Centre for International Security and Development, Reymonta 4, Krakow.

The workshop may accept up to 8 participants. It is primarily, but not exclusively, meant for scholars from CEE countries (see the list of countries in the Widening region here), the purpose being to support research skills and develop a local community for junior scholars. Participation is free of charge. The EUI Widening Europe Programme at the European University Institute will contribute 400 Euro as support for travel and accommodation.

Please submit your research project (5-8 pages) and CV to Stefano Guzzini (stefano.guzzini@eui.eu) and Xymena Kurowska (KurowskaX@ceu.edu). The deadline is October 1st, 2024. Applicants will be notified by October 15th about the outcome of the selection process.

The workshop will be followed by the annual Polish Association for International Studies Congress, which is held in Kraków. Further details about the Congress can be found here.
